Colors and Emotions

1. Describe Color and it's effects on emotions. Use the appropriate vocabulary of color in your posting.

Color is is the visual perceptual property that is corresponding in humans to the catergoes of red, green, blue and others. Color derives from the spectrum of light. Color is a very powerful artistic element and it is very hard to control.Color plays a huge effect on emotions. The colors of a painting or artwork can change a person's feelings about that work greatly. There are certain colors that cause certain emotions, for example, dark colors cause sadness, anger, and aggression and bright colors cause happiness, joy, and good feelings.

2. What is a theoretical aspect of color that most intrigues/fascinates you? Why?

A theoretical aspect of color that most fascinates me is how it triggers a person's emotions greatly. I never really looked so hard into a work of art and felt my emotions change, now when I look at art I feel as if the emotions are so different from before I looked at the piece. Art is soemthing that is so powerful to a person, especially with colors. Colors can change a person's outlook greatly.!

3. In the Color video, what made the biggest impact on you in regards to color and it's effects on emotions?

Based on the Color video, the part that had the biggest impact on me in regards to color and it's effect on emotions was the quote of "when you see nature just think of the beauty". I thought it was interesting how the artist was paiting a picture of nature and he said "when paitning nature dont look at the tree, just put the colors in". I found that so interesting.! The other part I thought was fascinating was when the artist was looking at her work and she felt based on the colors the work was very violent; therefore she wanted to put in some other colors because she did not intend for her artwork to look violent.

4. In the Feelings video, what made the biggest impact on you in regards to color and it's effects on emotions?

From the Feelings video, the part of the video that had the biggest impact on me in regards to color and it's effects on emotions was how the speaker says how Goya speaks his imagination. By speaking your imagination it shows that the colors are based on that. The colors are speaking your emotions.
